A German fighter fell at 08.15 hours in a garden behind the house No 7 rue de la Mitterie in Lomme. This plane exploded when it struck the ground and made a large hole, three meters deep and ten meters in diameter. The pilot was killed. The building No 7 rue de la Mitterie was seriously damaged, but can still accommodate people.
Less important damages were caused to surrounding building, such as broken windows and tiles from the roof. Two people living in the above mentioned building were slightly wounded on the face by glass splinters. They are Madame Madeline Duthilleul aged 55, and her daughter Madame Elise Lefebvre aged 33. German Feldgendarmerie (Field Police) arrived quickly on the scene and organised a guard near the remains of the plane, while the French policeman are ensuring that the freedom of movement is kept.
