Believed shot down during American day-light bomber force. No further information is known. Can you help?

NOTE: Hans Metzen joined the Luftwaffe during 1938 and became a qualified pilot and attained the officer rank of Leutnant. He was awarded the Iron Cross 1st & 2nd Class. Entry into Austria medal with Prague bar clasp, entry into Memel medal, war flights badge. He was sadly killed in action aged twenty-four while engaged in aerial combat with Allied bombers.
